Starting your wellness journey.

Text - Starting your wellness journey.

Many of us set fresh, exciting wellness goals for the new year, only to get side-tracked before we’ve gained any momentum. We love the advice that suggests that it is better to start huge overhauls by committing to small changes first.

After all, research shows it takes 21 days to form a new habit, so trying to really commit for your first three weeks should make it easier in the long run.

Over the month of January, we will be sharing our top tips and favourite small ideas that help you improve your overall wellbeing.

Eating clean, being active and taking time out to be mindful,  are all activities that improve our overall health and wellness.  But it is a personal journey for each and every one of us, and what works for one, won't always work for others.

Our hectic lives, full of the efforts of balancing work, partners, kids, home, hobbies and chores is relentless.  And it is all too easy to prioritise tasks and others above ourselves.

We personally love the sentiment of this explanation:

"When you board a plane, the flight attendants always tell you that in the event of an emergency, to apply your own oxygen mask first, before helping others. This should be a mantra for life.  If you don't apply your own self care first, you won't be able to care for those around you either."

Over the month of January, we will share all 7 of the dimensions of wellness, explore the psychology of change and forming habits, as well as introduce the hottest health trends and share the most fabulous bloggers and influencers that help keep us motivated for the journey ahead. We'll be looking at the history of ancient health heroes, from Matcha to Chaga, Turmeric to Mullein and how they can play a part in our nutritional needs.

But first, we're going to grab a hot cacao get an early night.

Because all big journeys begin with small steps.
